Making This West Elm Table For A Fraction Of The Cost — The Sorry Girls

Entertainment News Fire and Blood Reign in Newly Released “House of the Dragon” Promo by Njera Perkins 1 day ago The West Elm Solstice line has this beautiful table that ranges from $600 to $800 online, depending on its size. There’s also a longer entry board that’s $700, so I decided I wanted to make a hybrid of all of these to fit the end of my bed – so I’m resizing it to meet your needs.

I took a 4 x 8 sheet of ½ plywood and had it cut at the hardware store. I cut it to 18” and this will be used for the two side pieces. This is one piece that I will have to create for a custom shape because I want this to be very solid and hold everything together. Once this is cut, we can wrap it with different pieces of wood to build a bench around it. I drew my edge shape on top of this to my liking and then rounded the edges.

I glued two pieces of sheet together and cut them both at once using a circular saw to get the same size. I then hole punched the pieces before moving on to the next step.

Now I’m going to glue this between my two pieces of plywood to complete the table skeleton. Make sure the 2×2 is perfectly centered when attaching the pine to the plinth.

To wrap the skeleton, I need to create curved corners, so to do this, I cut the wood. I started by cutting 4 squares of poplar sheet across the width of the bench and each one long enough to wrap around the dovetail. It is important that you use a plywood that has a good edge on one side because that is what will hold our edge together.

Next, adjust the base plate on your circular saw so that the depth of cut cuts through almost all of the plywood except for the last layer of plywood. Making too many of these cuts close together will prevent your tree from bending. If it still feels like it takes a lot of force to pry, you can dampen it with some water and let the wood get a little wet. This should make your tree more beautiful.

Now all that’s left is to build the bench, fill the remaining gaps with wood. I chose some cheap wood for this part just to keep my price point down. So all you have to do is measure the gaps that are missing, cut them to size and mold those pieces. Now I just need to fill the holes with wood and cloth before I go to the surface.

I believe the original painting was made of fabric which was then lacquered, but to keep the value down – I decided textured wallpaper would be useful!

To top it off, what I’m going to do is use some regular wall glue and cover the entire surface of the rug. I then covered the entire surface with a top coat of durable shellac to finish it off!
