Mid Century Pop Up Storage Coffee Table
This beautiful hardwood table is crafted from gorgeous grade A solid walnut stained teak hardwood. The tapered legs are hand-turned for a classic mid-century, rustic, modern style. The legs screw into the metal plates under the table top for easy removal for storage/moving. The counter is slightly thinner at 7/8″ (22mm) instead of the standard 1″ (25mm) for a streamlined look and airy design. Details on finishes and carpentry below.
The process of preparing and laminating all of these blocks is extremely labor intensive, making it difficult to profit from, but it’s a labor of love for us. Seeing these blocks of reclaimed grade A hardwood become a unique tablet is worth it. The “butcher-block” patterns created are not only stunningly beautiful, but are rarely seen affordably at tabletop size. Constructed in this way, the boards are also exceptionally stable, unlike boards made from wider and longer boards which can more easily twist, split and warp with changes in weather etc. Our tables are handcrafted one at a time from solid woods that can last a lifetime and given a premium artisan finish with a natural wood look that is very easy to maintain.
Letting the gorgeous natural material speak for itself and using clean lines in our designs means our furniture looks great in a wide variety of styles/contexts. It is also very easy to maintain as it is a ‘living finish’.
Mid Century Modern Wooden Triangle Coffee Table — Hook Props
A live finish means you can touch up the table as needed throughout its life for any nicks or scratches. Although our finish is a robust deck-style finish, some in-use marks are unavoidable. A simple wipe in Howard’s commonly available “Restore a Finish” app can instantly remove scratches and marks and use it anytime you want to refresh your table. Teak oil is also an alternative solution for cleaning and easy maintenance. A live finish also has an organic, satin look where the wood looks natural and organic, not like it’s covered in plastic and shiny.
The top of the table and the legs are made of solid wood; there is no plywood or fiberboard in our furniture anywhere. You already have steel plates attached to the table, so all you have to do is insert them into the legs for an easy 60-second assembly. As our countertops are a natural material, grain and color will vary, however this mosaic is unique and the beauty inherent in the piece. Our tapered solid wood legs are hand-turned on a lathe in our shop one at a time and are also made from reclaimed wood that shows beautiful and unique character with natural grain patterns and colors.

These are handmade, made-to-order items, so we will generally replace any item if there is a problem.
