Mid Century Modern Walnut Coffee Table With Tambour Doors

This beautiful hardwood table top is crafted from beautiful A grade teak hardwood in a walnut finish. The tapered legs are hand-turned for a classic, mid-century modern rustic-modern style. The legs screw into metal plates under the table top for easy removal for storage/moving. The tabletop is 7/8″ (22mm) slightly thinner than the standard 1″ (25mm) for a streamlined look and airy design. Details of finish and joinery below.

The process of preparing and laminating all of these blocks is extremely labor intensive, making it difficult to capitalize on, but it is an affair of the heart for us. Seeing these reclaimed blocks of beautiful grade A hardwood transformed into a one-of-a-kind tabletop is well worth it. The “butcher block” patterns created are not only incredibly beautiful, but also rarely seen affordable at table size. In this way the table tops are also exceptionally strong – unlike tables made from wider, longer planks which can twist, split and warp more easily with changes in weather etc. Our tables are individually handcrafted from solid hardwoods that can last a lifetime with a high quality finish in a natural wood finish that is very easy to care for.

By letting the beautiful natural material speak for itself and using clean lines in our designs, our furniture looks great in a variety of styles/contexts. It is also very easy to maintain as it is a “live finish”.

A vibrant finish means you can touch up the table for dents or scuffs throughout its lifetime. While our finish is a rugged patio style finish, some wear and tear is inevitable. A simple wipe on application, the commonly available Howard’s Restore a Finish, can instantly remove scuffs and stains and can be used anytime you want to freshen up the table. Teak oil is also an alternative wipeable, low-maintenance maintenance solution. A vibrant finish also has an organic, satin look that makes the wood look natural and organic – not like it’s encased in plastic and shiny.

The table top and legs are made of solid wood – there is no plywood or fiberboard anywhere in our furniture. Steel plates are already attached to the table for you – so all you have to do is insert the legs for a simple 60-second assembly. As our tabletops are a natural material, grain and color will vary, although this patchwork is unique and is the inherent beauty of the piece. Our solid wood tapered legs are individually hand turned on a lathe in our shop and also made from reclaimed wood which shows a beautiful and unique character with natural grains and colours.

We built a small makeshift workshop on our family property and everything is still made by us as it always has been and always will be.

These are handmade, made to order items, so we would generally replace any item if there is a problem. That said – we would accept returns as we do not want anyone to be unhappy with any of our pieces. However, there are some stipulations. The item must be returned to us in perfect condition. The original actual shipping amount would not be refunded and in addition, the buyer has to pay for the shipping back to us. Therefore, such a return is not an ideal solution for buyers or sellers. This item will be shipped in double-thick corrugated cardboard to ensure it reaches you safely. Finally, although it is extremely rare (due to the way we fill out the forms based on raw materials only), should a customs duty be charged as per standard practice, it is the buyer’s responsibility to pay the fee. This table was BEAUTIFUL and perfect for my small space. The walnut was beautiful, the legs screwed on easily and perfectly. I added glide feet to the bottom of the legs for my tile floor and this is exactly what I was hoping for! The delivery was faster than expected and the goods were well packaged.

I love this coffee table. The wood is beautiful and I love the minimalistic construction. Delivery was pretty quick and assembly was super easy. I debated which size to go for, but ultimately went with the larger of the two and I’m really glad I did. The extra 6 inches of length really makes a difference, especially when using books or small plants as centerpieces.
